How large of a space is needed and what should I expect from my first appointment on-site?
As your Licensed Massage Therapist, I will need to set up in a space big enough for a full-size massage table with room for me to work around the table. I will arrive at your location with all the necessary supplies and equipment. These include a comfortable table, table warmer, clean linens, music, HOT towels and unscented professional massage oil. While I’m setting up you will be asked to complete an intake form to access your needs and issues as well as to access any contraindications that could affect your massage and health. Please inform me of any new problems or health conditions at your next massage therapy session and will result in a new intake form with the new changes to be filled out.

What can I do to prepare for my massage therapy appointment in the office or on-site?
- You can begin to relax your mind and body by taking a warm/hot shower.
- Preparing a spacious and quiet area with room for me to move around the massage table.
- If possible, please refrain from consuming any caffeine, nicotine, any unnecessary pain medication and EXCESSIVE alcohol consumption.
Are suggestive, inappropriate innuendos, or inappropriate comments of any kind OK to ask or say during my massage therapy session?
NO. As a professional licensed massage therapist, ANY inappropriate energy or activity of any kind, before, during or after your massage session will not be tolerated. Inappropriate behavior of any kind, as determined by the therapist, will result in immediate termination of your session, and you will be responsible for payment of the full session. It may also result in notifying of the proper authorities.

Will I feel some pain or discomfort during my massage therapy session?
Feeling some pressure on your muscles during your massage session is normal and should be a pleasant experience.
If you are receiving NMT (NeuroMuscular Therapy) work during your therapeutic massage session in areas of chronic pain, you may experience temporary discomfort or tenderness. It’s VERY IMPORTANT to let me know if any work I do is exceptionally painful or uncomfortable so that I can make adjustments to stay within YOUR comfort zone.

How should I feel AFTER my massage therapy session?
Everybody is different after a massage therapy session, but you can expect to feel relaxed for many hours after your massage session. If you had a therapeutic massage session where NMT (NeuroMuscular Therapy) or deeper pressure was applied during the session, you may feel some soreness in your muscles the next day or a few days afterward. THIS IS NORMAL.
After your massage session, it’s recommended that you avoid exercise or any heavy physical work for the rest of the day.

How often should I schedule massage therapy sessions?
For stress reduction or very minor issues you may have, once a month massage therapy session is recommended. If you have higher stress levels in your life or any pain, you would benefit from a massage therapy session every 2 weeks.
The IMPORTANT thing to remember is: REGULAR, not sporadic massage therapy sessions will help your body and mind take full advantage of the benefits that occurs when REGULAR massage therapy sessions are incorporated.
